Paul Leongas, alongside his sisters Sophia & Lydia, bought The Curragh Traditional Irish Pub in Schaumburg after graduating from Michigan State University with a BS in Hotel, Motel and Restaurant Management. The doors first opened in 1999 and immediately the combination of amazing draft beers and authentic Irish cuisine proved to be a hit with Chicago’s suburban dwellers.

Today, more than two decades later, Paul Leongas and his sisters are still successful owners and managers, although The Curragh has expanded to several locations in both Illinois and Michigan.

The Edison Park bar and restaurant is the successor to the original Schaumburg location after the construction of a new retail development led to its doors being closed in 2006. It has proved to be a success with the local community thanks to its welcoming ambiance and lively atmosphere.

Eager to give back to an area that has welcomed him so wholeheartedly, Paul Leongas and his sisters have also partnered up with several charities and have given generous donations to funds for the local community.

The Edison Park pub and restaurant also offers a private banquet and event space that is perfect for local weddings, cocktail parties, presentations, and celebrations.
